Body Image and Chronic Illness: Loving Yourself Just as You Are

Body Image and Chronic Illness

We’ve heard a ton of talk lately about body image issues (thanks, Khloe!), but most of it only fits for healthy and able-bodied people and how they see themselves in the mirror. It’s a little different when you have a chronic illness. We can’t control what’s going on with our bodies, and that impacts how we see our physical selves. So we need to address body image and chronic illness differently.

On this week’s podcast we do just that. It’s not just your typical “Here are all the things you can do to make yourselves feel better” episode, either. After all, we’re chronically ill, too. We struggle with body image issues right along with you. We know what it feels like to look in the mirror and not see the person you were a few months ago, let alone five years ago. During the episode, we address the impact body image and chronic illness has on more than just how you feel about your body. We also talk about how it impacts your life.

Then we talk a little about what you can do about it. Really, we wouldn’t be doing anyone any good if we didn’t, right?

So take a listen and share your stories in the Facebook group. We know this is a tough topic for all of us. Also, as a reminder, sign up below to join our email list (and get the prescription tracker freebie!). We’ll be releasing the My Chronic Illness Life Planner soon, and we’ll be offering a discount to anyone on our email list. Also, as soon as we hit 500 listeners, we’ll be doing a drawing from our email list for a one-of-a-kind Chronic Spoonful t-shirt.

So many fun things in the future everyone!
